We all need reminders. We write them on sticky notes, put notifications in our phones, and sometimes convince ourselves that we’ll just rely on our memory – only to forget in a matter of moments. In the midst of the busyness of life, we’re constantly seeking ways to remember the things that matter, while not forgetting the never-ending lists, appointments, and responsibilities of everyday life. Peter, one of Jesus’ disciples and closest friends on earth, didn’t need to be reminded of his denial of Jesus, but of his friendship with Jesus. And, as a result, the impact of Peter’s life and ministry wasn’t motivated by shame but was motivated by love.
