In a cauldron of racial tension, how should followers of Jesus think and talk about race? With the help of the Bible, because it is a biblical issue, not a political one.

As I watched Trinity, Seeing Race More Clearly my mind went back in time to being a preteen on a Monday or Tuesday night at 6pm. My prayerful, humble father a pastor would go downtown Detroit and preach at the Detroit Rescue Mission. No one showed up at the church to leave for downtown that day! Joy, he said “we follow God even if others couldn’t make it”. So we left for Detroit in his small car, the rain flooded the streets that almost made the journey impossible. Yet, dad said “hold on with God their is a way”. He drove on a soggy wet lawn and rain covered sidewalk, oh my! Dad was not scheduled to speak so he pulled out his Bible and gave a John 3:16 message of the glorious gospel. That night as a man came forward to have eternal life and know Jesus Christ !! It did not matter his wealth or status, age, that he was dirty, smelly, homeless, his race, or even if he had lice…. My dad would get down on his knees with him, put his arm around him, and show him the gospel. What mattered was his eternal state! My and I dad left rejoicing with the angels that a lost sinner had come home! Keep being like Jesus Trinity and thank you for preaching Gods beautiful Word Pastors! Jesus is the way, truth, and the life. Have a blessed summer!
